Information
Cadmium was used for electroplating, and more commonly in Nickel-Cadmium batteries. These uses became discontinued when the health risks were appreciated, as Cadmium is quite toxic. Lithium-ion batteries are both longer lasting and less harmful to the environment than Ni-cads.
